Minor Variation to a Premises Licence
The minor variation process enables a premises licence holder to make small operational changes to their existing premises licence. The proposed changes must not undermine any of the four licensing objectives:
-
the prevention of crime and disorder
-
public safety
-
the prevention of public nuisance
-
the protection of children from harm
A Minor Variation can be used, if you want to:
-
Reduce the licensing hours for the sale or supply of alcohol
-
Amend or remove existing conditions e.g. out of fate, irrelevant, unenforceable or voluntary
-
Remove a licensable activity
-
Add a licensable activity that will not undermine the licensing objectives
-
Make minor changes to the structure or layout of the premises (For example, repositioning the bar counter)
-
Make changes to the operating hours, in which members of the public are permitted on the premises.
-
Make changes to the permitted hours (Vary the time during which the licensable activities take place without impacting the licensing objectives)
