Transfer of a Premises Licence​

If you are intending to purchase a business with an existing premises licence you will be required to transfer the premises licence. In order for this transfer to take place, you must complete an application to transfer the premises licence with the local authority and also obtain consent from the existing licence holder. Once this application has been submitted, it will enter a 14 day consultation period before the transfer of the licence can be granted.

The current premises licence holder must provide consent for the proposed licence holder to complete the transfer of the premises licence.
